Coffee recipe for Autumn – Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Autumn is here and it means pumpkin season, so why not try spicing up your office coffee with a little seasonal indulgence. With a Bean To Cup Coffee Machine it’s even easier!

What you’ll need for the perfect Autumnal coffee recipe

The Latte

½ cup black coffee
¾ cup whole milk
Spiced pumpkin syrup
Vanilla extract or syrup

The topping

whipped cream
A drizzle of honey or maple syrup
A dusting of ground cinnamon or nutmeg powder

How to guide

Place your favourite mug or latte glass under your bean to cup coffee machine and select the Latte option and make to your desired strength.
Once your latte has been dispensed pump in the pumpkin flavoured syrup and give it a stir.
Spray on the whipped cream over the top of the pumpkin spice latte. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon or nutmeg and/or drizzle over some maple syrup to your liking.

The true cost of your coffee at work

If you think the price of a coffee in your local coffee shop is pushing the boat out, you might be interested to know how much your workplace hot drinks are costing you.

Just picture the scene…

Your sales team are chattering away on the phones, and the support staff are tapping away on their keyboards. Suddenly someone exhales loudly, kicks back their chair, and heads to the break room for a coffee.

Yes, a great way to revitalize at work, however, all too often these pauses turn into prolonged periods due to distractions.

Wellbeing Group believe, due to 10 years of research, that one of the biggest enemies of office productivity is the £35 staffroom electric kettle.

Once we hit the switch, what do we all do with the two to three minutes as the kettle comes to boil? It doesn’t matter who you are – we’re all equally guilty of kettle time-wasting.

Here are the Top 5 Kettle-Waiting Time Wasters

Check personal social media platforms
Try and catch the Pokemon which is dancing around outside the window
Pop out-side for quick cigarette
Worse still, go and disturb a colleague who is diligently working
The best workers pop to the toilet… however by the time they return the kettle is either empty or requires re-boiling!

In all of this, what we can be sure of is one thing that won’t be done is WORK!

By the time your employee has returned to their desk, 15 minutes later (plus another five minutes as they refocus on their work) – even if the employee is only paid £8 an hour – that has cost the company £4 a cup, just in wages!

Now multiply this by the number of employees in your office, and the number of hot drinks they have per day….Scary! And for even scarier numbers, don’t forget to then multiply this up for all the employees who earn more than £8 per hour and you have now worked out the math’s for your workplace!

“No more coffee breaks!” I hear you cry. Well that’s not going to be productive either and hydration is a key factor for the well-being of your employees.

OK, so how does any company stop Kettle time wasting and reduce costs?

Simple! Just take away the possibility to become side-tracked and eliminate that kettle!

Keeping hydrated is vital in order for us to optimise our health and performance in everyday life and that extends to our working day. It can be so easy during a busy day to forget or not prioritise taking on fluids during regular intervals.

Taking those little moments, although you feel you may not have time at some points in your day, are definitley worth it. Studies show that dehydration will affect concentration levels, mood, clarity of thought and a huge increase in fatigue.
